Upper Darby trash, recycling delays resolved, Council says
If you happened to notice your trash remained at the end of your driveway this past weekend, you’re not alone. According to the Upper Darby Township trash and recycling service offices, delays began on Friday, Nov. 14, but are catching up.
A public notice was released on Tuesday, Nov. 18, stating that the office was aware of delays.
“On Friday, Nov. 14, we experienced service interruptions due to an unexpected staff shortage,” said the alert. “While this situation was unavoidable, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
Thankfully, the delays did not last. The same release noted that by Monday, Nov. 17, the crews had made their intended routes.
“We were able to complete scheduled pick ups,” said Upper Darby Township Council-at-Large Laura Wentz via Facebook. “If your recycling pick-up was missed last Friday, please put them back out for your normal Wednesday recycling service.”
The notice also reported that the issue should not be resolved.
“Moving forward, we remain committed to providing uninterrupted trash and recycling services for all residents,” said Wentz.
