Webinar series, starting tonight, will help local seniors navigate Medicare
Although the Medicare annual enrollment period doesn’t begin until October, local seniors who want to learn more about the government-sponsored health care program have three upcoming opportunities to do so.
This evening, the Senior Community Services PA MEDI Medicare Program of Delaware County will offer a “2026 Medicare Update” Zoom webinar from 6 to 7 p.m. Attendees can learn about changes in this year’s Original Medicare premiums, deductibles, copays and more.
For example, this year the standard monthly amount for Medicare Part B coverage — which pays for outpatient services, doctor visits, home health care, durable medical equipment and preventive services — is $202.90, marking a significant increase compared to 2025.
SCS Delco PA Medi will then host a “Medicare 101” Zoom webinar on March 7 from 10-11 a.m., during which attendees can learn the basics of Medicare Parts A, B, C and D, as well as other key Medicare terminology.
Finally, a March 25 webinar will cover Medicare cost-sharing programs, including Medicare Savings Programs, the Extra Help Program and PACE/PACENET programs. That presentation will take place from 6-7 p.m.
The presentations are cosponsored by the Upper Darby Township Library. SCS Delco PA Medi is funded in part through the Administration for Community Living under contract with Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging.
